We have been sharing regular stories about the Tiping Community Organisation in Tiping Village, an organisation we have been supporting for a number of years now with small grants and in-kind donations and last year they were recipients of funds through the TFN Giving Circle, a pilot programme initiated by the CS Mott Foundation. Bertha, the founder always dreamt of having a multi-purpose centre in her village that could be used as a preschool and a meeting place for members of her village community – and now that dream is becoming a reality – albeit that the progress has been on the slow side due to the inclement weather conditions and the fact that the Chief passed away so everyone was busy with the funeral arrangements. The Centre is being built by a specialist from the area who is using rocks from the mountainside that will guarantee that the building is as ‘SOLID AS A ROCK’ and will down be destroyed in the adverse weather conditions. Mamo Mohapi from the CS Mott Foundation joined us in Tiping last month to witness the Centre taking shape – a truly inspirational moment for all of us and we look forward to the official launch of the Centre in the coming weeks!! Thank you to everyone who contributed through the TFN Giving Circle – you have made this possible!!
